beautifully written. My youngest and some of the neighbour kids do this when the first good carpet coats all the little yard fronts. I stood in the window this year wondering if it would be the last . Perhaps I could still witness, and take photos, even if mine aren't involved. It is still a community rite of passage into long nights.
Would they be interested in raking Auntie's leaves? :) Wyatt is already tired of it and our leaves stay on and drop and drop and drop. It's a beautiful picture from the back window but not so much for Wyatt! Love, LaDonna
